With just under 24 hours till this year’s edition of On Blackheath takes place, the New York Hip Hop trio De La Soul have had to cancel their appearance at the festival due to Hurricane Irma. Stepping in to fill the gap Brixton’s own Basement Jaxx will by no doubts perform a blistering DJ set.
Speaking about the last minute cancellation event promoter Carl Dodds said: “De La Soul recently played some UK shows but Posdnuos travelled back to Miami and is now trapped there due to Hurricane Irma. Thankfully Craig Charles, Kate Tempest and Steve Mason were all able to move their stage times and the fabulous Basement Jaxx are stepping in to headline Stage 2 with an amazing DJ set. Our best wishes are with everyone affected by Hurricane Irma this week.”
Tickets for the London two dayer are still available, with day tickets priced at £49.50, and weekend tickets at £90 (plus booking fees. For more info, a full lineup and more please visit the On Blackheath website.
