Billie Eilish to Headline Glastonbury 2022

The 19-year-old Californian is set to be the youngest ever solo headliner.

Glastonbury Festival have confirmed this morning that Billie Eilish will close the Pyramid Stage on Friday evening. The news arrives two years after the star performed a daytime set on the Other Stage in 2019.

“We couldn’t be happier to announce that the wondrous @billieeilish is headlining the Pyramid on the Friday at next year’s Glastonbury Festival,” co-organiser Emily Eavis said on socials. ‘…This feels like the perfect way for us to return and I cannot wait!’

The news has been confirmed a day after Eilish posted a photograph of herself wearing a Glastonbury hoodie, captioned ‘2022’.

2021’s festival only existed in the virtual realm: featuring pre-recorded performances from Wolf Alice, Michael Kiwanuka, Damon Albarn, Haim & IDLES among others.

In another first, this will be Billie Eilish’s debut as a UK festival headliner, much as it was for Stormzy when he took to the Pyramid in 2019.

Tickets for next year’s festival sold out two years ago, so keep your eyes peeled for cancellation resales from Glastonbury’s socials – but don’t get your hopes up.
