Enlisting the dream team of Caroline Polacheck and Christine and The Queens, Charli XCX is cutting ‘New Shapes’
Following up ‘Good Ones’, Charli XCX has returned in true fashion with a mega pop banger in the form of ‘New Shapes’. The single sees the “demonically talented” power-trio band together after Charli “possessed and persuaded” her collaborators using her “femme fatale powers and a multitude of dark spells and curses”.
Along with ‘New Shapes’ comes the announcement that Charli’s fifth album (the final on her record contract as pointed out in her press release) will be on it’s way next year. Titled CRASH, the album is set to land on March 18th 2022, and is available to pre-order now.
The follow up to last year’s pandemic project, how i’m feeling now, CRASH sees Charli return with a huge roster of friends and collaborators A. G. Cook, George Daniel, Deaton Chris Anthony, Lotus IV, Caroline Polachek, Christine and the Queens, Rina Sawayama, Ian Kirkpatrik, and dozens more.
If the new track and album announcement weren’t enough – Charli XCX has also announced a huge UK and EU tour. Kicking off in Dublin next May, the tour will see Charli hit Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse and London’s iconic Alexandra Palace. Tickets for the tour go on pre-sale on November 10th, with general sale beginning on the 12th.
