Dublin band Fontaines DC have shared the opening song from their upcoming sophomore album, A Hero’s Death.
Contrasting from the title track off of the album, ‘I Don’t Belong’ is a slow, rolling song. Borrowing from a Joy Division-esque soundscape, the track sees a darker atmosphere than its predecessor, never really building to a climax, but instead holding us with rested vocals and a shadowy guitar line.
First premiered at the band’s sold-out Brixton Academy show earlier this year, ‘I Don’t Belong’ is available to stream now.
Fontaines D.C.’s second album, A Hero’s Death, is due out on Partisan Records on July 31st, and is available to pre-order now.
