Fontaines D.C. share new track and announce album ‘A Hero’s Death’

Their sophomore release will arrive on 31st July.

Irish band Fontaines D.C. have premiered the title track from their forthcoming album A Hero’s Death, via Annie Mac’s Radio One show tonight.

This first sample from the album is filled with uplifting lyricism, with the chorus refrain “Life ain’t always empty.”

“It’s ostensibly a positive message,” Singer Grian Chatten says, referring to the album as a whole. “But with repetition comes different meanings, that’s what happens to mantras when you test them over and over.”

Fontaines’ Mercury Prize-nominated debut LP Dogrel was released to critical acclaim just one year ago, in April 2019.

A Hero’s Death will be released 31st July 2020 via Partisan.
