Green Man Festival to present ‘Field of Streams’ this Weekend

Green Man Festival will broadcast the streaming event over this weekend (22nd & 23rd August), via their social media channels.

The award-winning Welsh showcase was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, on what would have been the gathering’s 18th anniversary – with Mac DeMarco, Michael Kiwanuka, Little Dragon and Caribou all booked to perform at the Brecon Beacons.

All is not lost though. In compensation for this year’s cancellation, Green Man are streaming never before seen performances from the likes of Father John Misty, Stella Donnelly and Eels, along with many other artists.

The festival will also announce the winner of its Green Man Rising competition – for which 1,800 bands applied for a development grant, as well as a slot at next year’s festival.

Other artists on the bill include Krystal Lowe, Hijinx, Kitsch & Sync, Pocket Rocket Productions, Wheelabouts, Light, Ladd and Emberton, Kris Hubble & 9 Foot Stories.

Field of Streams will also play host to an exclusive virtual preview screening of White Riot – Rubika Shah’s film following the Rock Against Racism movement of the ‘70s, revealing the power of music in activism and social change.

Keep sitting patiently, Riot readers, and keep supporting the festival industry. the countdown is on for next year’s festival season to commence – now keep those masks on and keep washing your hands.

Catch Field of Streams via Green Man’s Instagram and Facebook channels.
