Having returned to the UK for two intimate shows, last week Hippo Campus revealed the details for their second album, Bambi. Pegged for release on September 28th via Transgressive Records, the Minnesota-bread band’s sophomore sees them explore the shift in both their personal lives and the wider world since the band’s inception.
Recorded at Chicago’s Electrical Audio, the band’s greatest hope for Bambi is that the album might help others dealing with their own pain. Talking about the album bassist Zach Sutton said: “I’ve always considered the responsibility of art to be representing your specific experience. We’re saying, ‘This is what I’m doing now, this what I’m living like.’ It’s about sharing what you’re going through, so maybe someone else will feel less lonely.”
Accompanying the album announcement, Hippo Campus have also announced an extensive European and UK tour for February 2019. With tickets on sale this Friday, February 31st, the tour will see the band headline their biggest UK show yet at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 21st February.
Bambi is available to pre-order now.
