In Conversation With: The Blockheads

It’s no secret, retro is in fashion. The 80’s have made their way back into the pop-culture, bigger, better and bolder than ever before. So what better than sitting down with one of the eras finest, The Blockheads.

Fronted by Ian Dury, The Blockheads were best known for their smash hits such as ‘Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick’, ‘Sex & Drugs & Rock ‘n’ Roll’ and ‘Reasons To Be Cheerful Part 3’ we caught up with the band as they prepared to take the stage at Let’s Rock London.

Quizzing them on the evolution of music production, the disappearance of small venues and why Kendrick Lamar is one of our generations finest, The Blockheads takes us on a quick trip down memory lane.

“We started in a time where there was a forum for live music”

So sit down, grab your headphones and enjoy our chat with The Blockheads, introduced by the one and only Dave Benson Philips.
