In a time when good news from across the pond is hard to come by, the emergence of exciting New York duo Overcoats is much needed.
Overcoats are Hana Elion and JJ Mitchell – two former roommates at college – who, since their first meeting as teenagers in 2011, have forged a closeness that verges on sisterhood. They describe the first time hearing each other sing as an epiphany: the harmony of their voices leading to personal, individual discovery.
To coincide with the announcement of their debut album, YOUNG, Overcoats are also proud to unleash new single, Hold Me Close.
The lead single from YOUNG, the track deals with the complexities of love, set to a backdrop of lush electronic beats and garnished with seamlessly intertwining harmonies.
Overcoats set off on a US tour in support of Tennis this Spring, with European tour dates expected to be announced imminently.
