Cast your mind back ten years ago, when Game Of Thrones had only just started, planking was a ‘thing’, and we were only a year away from the supposed end of the world.
Through all of this pop culture buzz, one thing cut through the noise as one of the biggest viral sensations, ‘Friday’. Released at just thirteen, the track overnight became one of youtube’s biggest ‘hits’.
Now, on Wednesday, Rebecca Black has come back through to celebrate ten years of ‘Friday’ with a hyper-pop remix. Enlisting Dorian Electra, 100 GECS’ Dylan Brady and 3OH!3, the mind-boggling remix is a stone-cold banger.
The remix comes just days after the release of Black’s latest single ‘Girlfiend‘.
So grab your bowl, have some cereal and tuck into Friday.
“I’d had the idea to do this remix of Friday for years leading up to now, but honestly it was also mildly insane for me to think anyone else would want to be a part of it,” Black said of the song in a statement. “As I started talking about it with other artists and producers, I couldn’t believe how stoked people were about it. I am thrilled to have some of my favorite artists (and people) as a part of this moment.”
With more music coming up on the horizon from Black, working with hyperpop producer Umru and hitmaker Jenna Andrews, this won’t be the last we hear from Black.
