Listen to Greta Isaac’s huge new single: ‘Like Me’

The latest single taken from her forthcoming EP, Greta Isaac is back with the huge new track, ‘Like Me’

A manifestation of pent up frustration, ‘Like Me’ is a song that reveals more than you might first assume. Starting off as a gentle pop track, the song transforms into a fervent, at times “gnarly” in Greta’s own words, track.

Exploring the anxiety-inducing inner debate that arises when lost in the search for validation from others, ‘Like Me’ swiftly follows on from the singer’s previous two tracks ‘Power’ and ‘Pessimist’

Speaking about the track Greta explains: “We wanted something that sounded like anxiety, a quick heartbeat, that urgency. This rising panic. We just bashed it out in an hour. It sounded like a dance track that we were thinking of pitching to someone. But when we put the guitar in it became so gnarly,” Greta remembers about writing it. “It’s probably the most on the nose in terms of just wanting to be validated and how that is my intention behind everything I do. But I still wanted it to sound like a euphoric release, for it to give you relief from any panic that I felt. I never get bored of it, I love it!”

Born to a musical family in rural Wales, Greta started writing songs as a child, often in her native Welsh language. The poetic traditions and storytelling of her homeland continue to shape and influence her artistic process; one that has culminated in her forthcoming EP, Pessimist, due out in spring 2021.

‘Like Me’ is out now via MADE Records.
