Lorde announces ‘Solar Power’ release date, tracklist and tour dates

Making her long-awaited return earlier this month, with ‘Solar Power’, Lorde has finally dropped details of her upcoming third album, as well as a huge world tour.

Titled Solar Power, the twelve track album will see Lorde return with full force on August 20th. As well as the album tracklist, Lorde has announced sh will be once again hitting the road. Announcing a ginormous world tour, kicking off at Electric Avenue Festival in New Zealand in February next year.

Following an extensive run of New Zeland and Australian dates, the singer will head across the US, before heading to the UK for a run of shows.

Hitting Leeds, Edinburgh, Manchester and Birmingham, the run of dates in May 2022 will culminate with two shows at London’s Roundhouse. For a full list of tour dates look below.

Pre-sale tickets for the shows will go on sale this Thursday, with general sale beginning on Friday at 10am local time. For more info head to Lorde’s website.

The news comes after rumours that the singer would release a new track, titled Solistice today, coincidentally the summer solstice.

Alongside the rumours of the new track, fans also floated that the New Zealander was supposed to be taking to the airwaves on Stephen Colbert’s Late Show to debut the album’s title track live.

Solar Power is set to be the follow-up to Lorde’s spectacular sophomore album, Melodrama. Released back in 2017, the album saw Lorde cement her place in the indie canon as a favourite, and coming second on our end of year Albums Of The Year list.
