In the festival sphere, All Points East has sprung up out of anonymity over the past week. With initial interest risen by the announcement of The National and The xx playing as part of the dual weekend festival, today’s rally of acts has elevated All Points East’s status in 2018’s festival schedule. Taking place in Victoria Park, the festival is set to amass an absolutely titanic audience over its residency from 25th May – 3rd June 2018.
As part of the festival’s first weekend, LCD Soundsystem will open the event with a Friday night headline slot, followed by The xx on Saturday, and Bjork closing off the weekend. Supporting LCD Soundsystem will be the now virtually reclusive Yeah Yeah Yeahs, French electro-Gods Phoenix, and Mercury Prize nominees Glass Animals. 25th May will also feature Richie Hawtin, Dixon, and George FitzGerald. Adding to the festival’s variety, the renowned pop singer Lorde, and mellowed out Sampha will slot in on the 26th May.
Bringing the first weekend to a close, Bjork will be joined by the legendary Beck, and cult hero Father John Misty. Additionally performing at Victoria Park over the course of the weekend will be Lykke Li, Popcaan, Rex Orange County, Alexis Taylor, Flying Lotus, Agoria, Mashrou’ Leila, and Sylvan Esso. With a plentiful amount of acts still yet to be announced, All Points East is becoming more and more like a safe choice for next year’s festival season.
Information and tickets for All Points East are available via the website, with tickets going on sale this Friday 3rd November at 9am.
