Taking home the award for the second time, The 1975 have been crowned the best British Group at the Brit Awards 2019.
Taking a break from the shows’ forced banter frontman Matty Healy took the moment to call out the latest round of allegations to hit the music world. Quoting Laura Snapes 2015 article for the Guardian Matty said: “Male misogynist acts are examined for nuance and defended as traits of ‘difficult’ artists, [while] women and those who call them out are treated as hysterics who don’t understand art.”

The statement comes at a time where once again the music industry fails to come to terms with another series of allegations, painfully demonstrated by the show awkwardly cutting to a short chat with Bros.
The 1975 beat Arctic Monkeys, Gorillaz Little Mix and Years & Years to take home this year’s award.
