This may sound impressive; but with Cats omitted from the nominees for Best Picture and James Cordon cruelly overlooked for Best Supporting Actor/Scariest Man in Cat Costume, can we really trust the Academy’s opinion at all?
Christine & The Queens – People, I’ve Been Sad
Dropping her first solo track since the release of Chris, Christine and The Queens returned with the hard-hitting ‘People, I’ve Been Sad’. Wearing her heart on her sleeve, the new track is an emotional standalone birthed during the same era as her sophomore album. Dropping it alongside a special session filmed at Colours studios in Berlin, it’s safe to say that this track has blown us away once again. PG
King Krule – Alone, Omen 3
Archy Marshall returns later this month with his third album under the King Krule moniker, Man Alive!. Following 2017’s Mercury Prize-nominated The Ooz, this track continue’s King Krule’s spree of tracks that are concurrently wistful & optimistic, downtempo & heavy, cocky and madly vulnerable. MG

After a couple of years on the circuit, it looks as if The Magic Gang are living up to their promise. The Brighton 4-piece have a busy summer ahead and this sunny, Northern Soul-inspired tune is going to soundtrack many afternoon Festival slots. MG

Dropping the video for their latest indie banger this Friday, Sea Girls brought us a stunning return to form with the infectious ‘Ready For More’. Having just come off their first Euro tour, and with a UK tour including a night at London’s Roundhouse on the cards, the band have already stormed 2020. PG
Carly Rae Jepsen – Let’s Be Friends
Just before hitting the UK for a pair of shows this weekend, Carly Rae Jepsen gifted us with what could quite possibly be the best Valentine’s ‘Fuck You’ track. The ode to shit dates features the brilliant line “I mean, you’re sort of a dick sometimes but someone out there is surely gonna love a dick. Uh, check please?”, and we simply cannot wait to see the lipsyncs this will spawn. PG
