RIOT Release Radar #007

Coronavirus is still causing mayhem across the world. SXSW festival has been cancelled as a precaution to prevent the virus spreading, meaning that thousands of artists have lost money, publicity and the opportunity to fulfil lifelong ambitions.

As if this isn’t bad enough, Tom Hanks has the bloody virus. We were willing to let you have one or two of our MPs, but Woody is one step too far. Kick back with this week’s release radar and, for Christ’s sake, wash your hands!

Everyone You Know // Seen It All

Everyone You know have hit the ground running since featuring on our Ones to Watch 2020 list. With a spot at Annie Mac Presents under their belt, the sibling duo have a full UK tour before heading to the US in 2020. MG

Sinead O’Brien // Fall With Me

One of a whole breed of exciting new artists who fuse singing with speech. Irish Poet Sinead O’Brien releases ‘Fall With Me’ with her stylised mixture of Post-Punk and Prose. MG

Bdrmm // Happy

Bdrmm have released another slice of lofty shoegaze, with ‘Happy’. We caught the Hull group in London in January and the live experience is one to behold. MG

Bambara // Stay Cruel

Bambara are starting to make big waves in the UK now, after taking off in their native USA some time ago. The New Yorkers sound somewhere between Nick Cave and Drenge – not a bad place to be. MG

Soko // Are You a Magician?

French artist Stephanie Sokolinski hasn’t released an album since 2015 and we are long overdue one. With a string of singles released lately, 2020 could see Soko’s return. MG

Dope Lemon // Streets Of Your Town

We couldn’t let this one slide by. Dope Lemon has a heap of previous releases that are nothing short of perfect, and Streets Of Your Town is another dreamy addition. MG

Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs // Rubbernecker

Geordie Punks Pigs x 7 are releasing their first full length LP, Viscerals, on April 3rd. The band have a heavy touring schedule ahead of them this year, so you’ve no excuse not to catch them. MG
