RIOT Release Radar #024

Jess Glynne became the most recent victim of discrimination in the music industry this week, when she was turned away from Sexy Fish in Soho whilst being dressed as a person who shots 10-bags at a festival.

We at Riot fully empathise with Jess, having previously been discriminated against for wearing a bathing suit to a court case and S&M gear to a funeral.

Connie Constance // James

Connie evaluates an intricate relationship with narcotics in her new track ‘James’. Check out her 2019 album English Rose. MG

The Streets ft. IDLES // None Of Us Are Getting Out Of This Life Alive

The titular track from Mike Skinner’s album, which is released today. Tame Impala, Jimothy & Ms.Banks also chip in. MG

Soko // Looking For Love

Another of today’s album releases. Feel Feelings is Soko’s first album in 5 years and it is worth the wait. MG

The Academic // Acting My Age

Mullingar’s finest (sorry Niall) are back with a new track, and it’s safe to say it’s breezy riffs are thoroughly infectious. With a new EP by the same name out today, there’s plenty of The Academic to dig into. PG

Baby Queen // Buzzkill

Baby Queen AKA Bella Latham is 2020’s most exciting Art-Pop prospect. Signed to music behemoths Polydor Records, you can expect to hear a lot more from Baby Queen. MG

Eyedress // Last time I’m Falling in Love

Filipino artist Eyedress proves consistency is key, with another snappy, lo-fi offering from Manila. MG

Pynch // Somebody Else

Speedy Wunderground alumni Pynch have released one of the most charming tracks of the year, after making us wait almost ten months since debut single, ‘Disco Lights’. MG

Declan McKenna // Daniel, You’re Still A Child

The mighty-morpin-Decky Mckenn back with a new one (and a weird new music video to boot)! Announced alongside a UK tour for March next year, we’re only a few weeks our from the album and we can’t wait. PG
