RIOT Release Radar: #061

Sure, you’re having a bad day, maybe even a bad week. But is it Matt-Hancock-kissing-you-and-grabbing-your-arse-in-a-corridor bad?

Sometimes the trauma of others really puts things into perspective.

Now let’s cleanse our minds with this week’s release radar.

Damon Albarn // The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows
A man of many projects; Damon Albarn has shared the title track from his sophomore solo album. ‘The Nearer The Fountain..’ sees Albarn leaning into the more tender side of his songwriting talents, and we can’t wait to hear the full LP (out in November).

EYEDRESS // Spit On Your Grave
Talk about high-octane. The Filipino superstar has teamed up with director Brvinfreeze once more to create this insane little clip.

SAULT // London Gangs
Ever shrouded in mystery and ever innovating, SAULT’s new album NINE will be available for no more than 99 days, so fill your boots while you can. ‘London Gangs’ kicks with the percussion of Chemical Brothers and retains SAULT’s unstoppable groove.

Lazarus Kane // Milk At My Door
David Byrne would be proud of these wonky guitar hooks. Lazarus Kane have announced their debut EP Psychobabble – out in September via So Young Records.

Geese // Disco
Geese have just dropped their debut single through the consistent Partisan Records. ‘Disco’ is nothing if not a statement entrance; one of the year’s best debuts.

English Teacher // Wallace
With a tune named after the band leader from the Titanic, English Teacher aren’t fucking around. The Leeds band have a hefty list of live dates confirmed and we strongly suggest checking them out.

Swim School // anyway
Edinburgh’s Swim School have channelled the transformative reverb of dream-pop, with the irresistible hooks of 90s American rock. Debut EP making sense of it all due in August.
