RIOT Release Radar: #072

A Ri-ku:
Fender on TV
“really, really hungover”
that’s why we love him.

Moonchild Sanelly & Sad Night Dynamite // Demon
Sole representatives of the Somerset music scene, Sad Night Dynamite, have collab’d with South African star Moonchild Sanelly for ‘Demon’. This tune will be as well received at a club set as it will at a festivals for years to come. Huge.

Phoebe Green // So Grown Up
‘So Grown Up’ is Phoebe Green’s very own coming-of-age film, with a video shot alongside Phoebe’s real best friend. Chess Club’s finest can’t stop pulling great tunes out of the bag lately.

The KVB // Unité
It’s the early 1980s. You’re on a dancefloor somewhere in Europe. it’s sometime between 1am and 7am. It doesn’t get better than this. The KVB’s new album, Unity, is out 26th November.

Odd Morris // Silhouette
Odd Morris have the knack of making tunes with both balls-out vulnerability and a composed coolness. On ‘Silhouette’, the Dublin quartet turn their attention to the complicated relationship with inherited masculinity that they see around them. Debut EP arrives 27th October.

Blue Bendy // Spring 100
We saw these rascals play MOTH Club a few months ago, and we can’t recommend enough. Blue Bendy’s debut EP Motorbike is being release early in 2022: so if you haven’t caught them live yet, it’s time to rectify that.

MEMES // HEAVY NIGHT
If Sleaford Mods had a goofy nephew with an ear for a hook. Glasgow duo MEMES smash it out of the park with an irresistibly minimalist approach to production.

Le Junk // Sticky Side
We love Le Junk’s mixture of lo-fi grit, scuzzy riffs and downright pop choruses. On ‘Sticky Side’, Le Junk digs into toxic relationships and self-control. Catch him performing in Hackney on 11th November.
