RIOT’s Release Radar #011

Ok, we are still in lockdown, but fuck it – it’s sunny and this can’t be taken for granted. Sit in your garden, stand on your balcony, or just stick your head out of the window and get those tanlines where you can find them.

Wash your hands, wear suncream and enjoy a four-day weekend bumper edition of RIOT’s Release Radar.

Phoebe Bridgers // Kyoto

I’m not crying, there’s just something in my eye… Phoebe’s back again, and this time shes shipped us over to Japan for the stunning Kyoto. Accompanied by a green-screened in video, and the announcement of her sophomore album (due June 19th) Phoebe has once again captured our hearts.

Gorillaz // Aries (ft. Peter Hook & Georgia)

One of the great artists of the past forty years. One of the great artists of the past twenty years. One of the great artists of the past year. What’s not to like? MG

Charli XCX // Forever

Announcing her new album in a zoom meeting with a thousand people tuned in (and you thought your office zoom was hectic?), Charli has dropped the first track off of her quarantine album, and of course its a banger. PG

Oscar Cash // Vocal FX

Metronomy’s Oscar Cash has released a full record of his own tracks, inspired by the songs on the band’s recent album Metronomy Forever. Oscar Cash forever is a must listen for anybody who loves the Torquay band.. or even those who don’t. MG

The Lazy Eyes // Tangerine

Aussie newcomers The Lazy Eyes are bringing summer Slacker-Pop to you from the other side of the globe. Soak up the sun with this psych-infused number. MG

Methyl Ethyl // Charm Offensive

Two Aussies artists on the trot, it is summer after all. ‘Charm Offensive’ showcases Methyl Ethyl’s authoritative Art-rock at its finest. MG

Jimothy Lacoste // Always Improving

Jimothy is back, and more Jimothy than ever before!
“Nandos on the daily / Sipping wine, no Baileys”. Voice of a bloody generation. MG

Alfie Templeman // Happiness in Liquid Form

Alfie has returned to continue his campaign to become the future poster boy of UK Indie. This Funk-fuelled number pulls from influences far beyond his 17 years of age. MG

Hayley Williams // My Friend

Not only treating us to a workout video to Over Yet, Hayley Williams gifted us with the latest offcut from Petals For Armor this week with ‘My Friend’. With the full album out in just under a month, Hayley’s showing no signs of slowing down. PG
