RIOT’s Release Radar #017

Remember bank holiday weekends, with your mates, at a pub, or maybe even a festival? Yep, so do we. Let’s compensate for these bank holiday blues with our latest Release Radar; featuring everything from Ireland’s finest Inhalerto ambient instrumentals from Gia Margaret. So scrub those hands, consider supporting your favourite band by picking up a record, and enjoy x

Gracie Abrams // Long Sleeves

The last single before Gracies debut project, minor, arrives on June 16th, ‘Long Sleeves’ is a spellbinding new taste of what’s coming. PG

Jadu Heart // Walk The Line

Flawlessly fusing acoustic and electro elements, this track is the perfect taster for Jadu’s forthcoming album, Hyper Romance. MG

Inhaler // Falling In

Returning with a massive banger in the form of ‘Falling In’, our Ones To Watch pick Inhaler have once again smashed it. Falling In how their lives have changed in the past year, from touring and “excitement and exhilaration of life and being up on stage and feeling wanted and loved”. PG

Squid // Broadcaster

The recent Warp signees have shared their second track of the year. Similarly to Squid’s very early tracks; this ominous number is less animated than recent releases, whilst retaining all of the band’s eccentric energy. MG

The Mysterines // I WIN EVERY TIME

Another one of our 2020 Ones to Watch do us proud with yet another banger. Check out the accompanying video, shot in isolation by frontwoman Lia Metcalfe. MG

Gia Margaret // Barely There

Having effectively lost her singing voice earlier in the year, Gia Margaret latest effort sees her move away from using her most primary instrument – her vocals. Instead her new project, Mia Gargaretsees the singer turn to her synthesiser for comfort, exploring instrumental landscapes instead. The result is a stunning collection of ambient tracks in the form of Mia Gargaret. PG
