As the release date for the gob-smacking eleventh album, ‘Pollinator’, nears, new-wave legends Blondie have released another single ready to churn up an eager audience. My Monster, written by Johnny Marr, hones in on the classic sound that the American idyllic set-up have adopted over the years, yet also sounds suitably modern.
Bridging the gap between rock, electronica, and pop seamlessly, My Monster runs with 3 minutes of storming bass-lines, animated synthesisers, and full-frontal drum tracks – to top it all off, Debbie Harry’s slightly aged vocals fit in to give an extra edge to the largely impressive single that proves Blondie have still got it, and never really did lose it. My Monster, alongside previous single Fun, set the new album ‘Pollinator’ up as an incredibly exciting and galactic release.
In addition, the musical icons will headline the Roundhouse, London, on Wednesday 3rd May. Tickets for the undoubtedly special show will be available Friday 24th February, from Gigs and Tours, and Ticketmaster.
