If the release of new single ‘What For’ doesn’t signal the start of a public obsession with indie four-piece Sea Girls then I’m not sure what will. Pairing The 1975-esque guitar riffs with incredibly catchy lyrics, the track narrates a tale of confusion and longing, whilst remaining upbeat and optimistic – ending too soon and leaving you wanting more.
Having announced a February UK tour just a couple of weeks ago, a tour which will see the band headline the likes of London’s Omeara and Manchester’s The Deaf Institute, Sea Girls seem set for success – a point evidenced by their impressive back catalogue of indie bangers. In terms of ‘What For’ we have just one warning: you’ll have this one on repeat for weeks.
