Single Review: Sudden Feeling // HALFNOISE

HALFNOISE, aka Zac Farro (yeah, the guy that used to drum for Paramore), have just dropped their latest single, ‘Sudden Feeling’. Taking a big step away from his previous musical endeavours, Farro has turned his attention to songwriting, with this new project, HALFNOISE, reaching great heights with 2 albums already under its armoury.

Self-produced in LA, this latest release, ‘Sudden Feeling’, is a shimmering collation of quasi-vapourwave synths, shadowed vocals, and full on funk; all of which is held together by repetitive drums and a groovy bassline not too dissimilar to what you’d find on a Passion Pit single.

The single is accompanied by a music video filmed entirely on 16mm film, and really adds to the overall boutique and summery vibe on HALFNOISE’s third single in just over a year. With a string of sun-kissed releases already in their back catalogue, and a run of intimate UK dates set for January, HALFNOISE will no doubt be making waves in the indie electronica scene this year.

‘Sudden Feeling’ is almost cathartic; the zeal and experimentalism blend together seamlessly … and oh, we just can’t wait to add it to our summer playlists.

Keep up to date with HALFNOISE on Facebook, and check out the UK tour dates here.
