Having announced that she’d be unveiling her own music “soon” at the start of the summer, The xx’s Romy Madley Croft has unveiled her first solo track, ‘Lifetime’.
Receiving its debut on Annie Mac’s radio show, the disco-tinged bop sees Romy flex her solo muscles
Back in April Romy took to Instagram live to announce that shed been working on solo material, saying “for the past couple of years I’ve been writing a lot of songs for other people, writing a lot of songs for myself, and I ended up with all these songs. So I’m going to be releasing a solo album, under my own name, Romy”
Playing one of her solo tracks, the still unreleased ‘Weightless’, Romy also added “with my new music I’m excited to make it a lot more upbeat, although I’m playing it on a guitar it’s not going to be guitar music, it’s going to be a lot more fun. Not that guitar music isn’t fun.”
During the stream, Romy also added that the band were indeed working on new music, although there are no concrete plans to release it, yet
