Track Review: Gills // Neggy

Their grunge oriented, back-heavy sound draws on influences such as Pearl Jam and The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Neggy balance an edge between melodic and distorted that is almost as captivating as it is nostalgic. Though the trio make a number of their 90s throwbacks  on their debut still stake out a fresh melodic path.

Talking about the track the band states that: “‘Gills’ is about someone who’s okay with being temporarily self-destructive because they know they will be alright in the end.

Hence ‘Gills’, they are okay with going under, because they can breathe underwater.”

Debuting with great potential, Neggy are onto something quite alright.
