Victorious Festival announces 2018 headliners

As Spring slowly dawns upon us, so does a rally of freshly announced festival line-ups. Today, Portsmouth’s Victorious Festival added some huge names to their bill. Taking place on August Bank Holiday weekend (24th – 26th), Victorious is the UK’s biggest metropolitan festival – and their line-up absolutely shows their rise in the festival rankings over the past few years.

The festival had already announced their Friday night acts, including The Libertines, Kaiser Chiefs, and Lightning Seeds. However, those in the second instalment really push Victorious into the stratosphere when compared to other city festivals.

Saturday night will see the rock legend Paul Weller take the headline slot, with a set sure to entail a matrix of solo works, and tracks from The Jam and The Style Council. Victorious Festival’s Saturday is filled with highlights including Paloma Faith, and a special appearance from ’90s icons Happy Mondays.

Sunday night, however, will divert from the tame rock-theme of the Saturday, and instead will see electronic pioneers The Prodigy closing the weekend. A UK festival exclusive, The Prodigy have six number one albums, and countless great tracks for what is set to be a wild finale to the Bank Holiday weekend.

Over the course of the weekend, the festival will host a myriad of artists from various genres; including Billy Bragg, Years & Years, Friendly Fires, Everything Everything, and Example. The line-up also features a few smaller bands there to find their feet on the festival circuit, such as Gengahr, Cabbage, Yonaka, and The Amazons.

For a weekend filled with iconic names, Victorious Festival is an inexpensive and safe bet. With tickets ranging from £30-£35 over the weekend, the eclectic mix is a complete steal.
