There are few bands that have managed to do what The xx did this year. After a third album that completely reinvented the band, to a handful of nights at London’s Brixton that became a week-long residency at the venue, the South-London three piece have left us in awe this year.
Following their Night + Day residency which sprawled across Brixton’s creative output the band have released a short film on the seven-night residency. Exploring behind the scenes of the seven-day event, the short looks at their work with local organisations such as Raw Material, Reprezent Radio and 198 Gallery.
Filled with artist cameos, live snippets and a full recording of On Hold filmed across the seven nights, the short film brings a poignant new perspective to The xx’s Brixton residency.
